Brooklyn's techno pillar The Bunker will visit Communikey Festival this April, touting residents Derek Plaslaiko and Spinoza alongside MUTEK's Akufen for his Colorado debut performance.

Beyond Booking's The Bunker held its 7-year anniversary in mid January 2010, celebrating the presentation of hundreds of unique electronic artists, many of which would have not performed state side without The Bunker. Beyond Booking front man Bryan Kasenic, aka Spinoza, has been one of the most proactive electronic music curators in New York City, bringing European talent to the states before the artists hit the radar. Spinoza performed at Communikey's 'Unsung Heroes' showcase in 2009, a night honoring curators who have acted as cornerstones of the North American electronic music movement, yet are talented artists in their own right. A Detroit native and New York resident, Derek Plaslaiko is known as one of the best DJs in the states, and is quickly developing a worldwide reputation for his versatile, high-energy sets.

Montreal's Akufen represents MUTEK with his Colorado debut, presenting live material that has only been presented a handful of times, a performance that has been long awaited by the local audience.  Akufen's first live set since 2005 premiered at the MUTEK 10 year anniversary in May 2009.  Up and comer Cheap and Deep is destined to break new ground in 2010 with his live hardware based sets. An American come Irishman come Berliner, Jay Ahern aka Cheap and Deep, develops dark and complex structures while bending minds and hips on a late night dance floor. An innate collaborator, Jay has released and performed work under a slew of aliases since 1990, including Hauntologists, a creative partnership with Mapstation. Opening the night is Communikey's own Attentat with his debut live set, a locally acclaimed DJ who has performed a number of times for the Bunker at it's home in Brooklyn.
