2010 Richmond Festival of Music: "Brahms Goes Dancing"
The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia's flagship event returns to Richmond in April, this year featuring the music of two favorite classical composers - Johannes Brahms and Antonin Dvorak. The 2010 Richmond Festival of Music - "The Musical Worlds of Dvorak and Brahms" - is a week-long event featuring three concerts plus free events and a masterclass, all performed by a cast of eight internationally acclaimed musicians from Europe and the United States.
The second concert of the 2010 Richmond Festival of Music, "Brahms Goes Dancing," is a concert featuring the famous G major viola quintet by Brahms, plus Hungarian dances, a keyboard concerto by J.S. Bach and the beloved "Blue Danube Waltz" of Johann Strauss Jr. in a world-premiere arrangement for chamber ensemble.
