AMAZING GRACE
In AMAZING GRACE (Best Film, 1992 Jerusalem International Film Festival), writer/director Amos Guttman (DRIFTING 1983) examines the relationship that develops between Jonathan, an 18-year-old openly-gay Israeli, and Thomas, his 30-year-old upstairs neighbor. Thomas just returned from living in New York, and is secretly dealing with an undiagnosed illness that he fears is AIDS. This complex and compelling drama is the first feature film to touch upon issues surrounding HIV/AIDS in Israeli society.
