Gegen Die Wand
Half punk love story and half social commentary, GEGEN DIE WAND is Fatih Akin's uncompromising breakout film. It tells the stories of Cahit and Sibel, two German-Turkish citizens whose eyes first meet across a busy psychiatric ward. It's not long before they enter into a marriage of convenience and things take a turn for the wild. The film is a brilliant character study of two resilient people trying to create for themselves the opportunities that they need.
