|  | EventBest of the NorthwestPortland Vocal Consort a professional choral ensemble will be presenting a concert showcasing and celebrating contemporary composers of the Northwest.  Vocal composers such as Robert Kyr, Morten Lauridsen, Brian Johanson, Joan Szymko, Timothy Stephens, and others will be celebrated.  We will also be premiering a new work by the winner of our young composer contest Surrender, by Ethan Gans-Morse of University of Oregon.  The Jefferson Dancers will be joining us with original choreography to "Farewell to Wang Wei" a piece by Jack Gabel of Portland that was premiered by Portland Vocal Consort last June. Robert Akotia a native of Ghana and now a professor of art at Pacific University will be displaying  his art of the Pacific Northwest which brings the artistic tradition of his homeland in his paintings.  Truly an evening of all that is best about our artistic traditions of the Northwest. |  |  | LocationFirst Congregational Church1126 SW Park
