Palm Springs Chamber Music Festival Children's Concert. Presenting Duo X Squared
Chinese-born pianist Xiao Chen travels the world as a solo and chamber musician.

She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Bard College Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language and Literature from Bard College.  She received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in New York, where she studied with Jerome Lowenthal, and she completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree under Inna Faliks at University of California, Los Angeles, where she has been a teaching assistant and fellow.

Ms. Chen has performed numerous concerts and recitals throughout the U.S., China, and Europe. Her solo recital in Shanghai Concert Hall was well received and interviewed by Shanghai Youth Daily (Her energetic, exquisite, breathtaking performance impressed the audience).

Her performance of Rachmaninoffs second piano concerto with UCLA Symphony received a standing ovation. She is the prize winner of many competitions including American Prize, Lorin Hollander Award, Seattle Frances Walton Competition, American Protege International Competition, The Muse International Competition, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, and The Steinway Youth Piano Competition in China. As a winner of Seattle Frances Walton Competition, she played a concert tour in Washington State and performed a live broadcast concert at radio station Classical KING FM 98.1 in 2017.


Xenia DEVIATKINA-LOH has toured the world to play her violin.

Down Under, she performed with many Australian and New Zealand-based orchestras including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Canberra Symphony Orchestra and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and she has performed at the Horncastle Arena, Sydney Opera House, Wigmore Hall, St. John's Smith Square, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and more.

Xenia was the winner of the Gisborne International Music Competition and has had masterclasses with The Brentano String Quartet, Trio Dali, Cassatt Quartet,  Oleh Krysa, Charles Castleman, Kolja Blacher, Julian Rachlin, Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Renaud Capuçon, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Felix Andrievsky and Edward Dusinberre (Takács Quartet); and has worked intensely with Boris Kuschnir.

In Sydney, Xenia studied with Alice Waten, and completed her Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music, London under the tutelage of Professor György Pauk, and she will pursue the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at UCLA.

In London, Xenia supported by the Tait Memorial Trust - The Thornton Foundation, the Leverhulme Trust, Woolf Mernick, and Margot MacGibbon. In Los Angeles, she is supported by the Ian Potter Cutural Trust Fund, Friends of Strings Award, and Greenschlpoon, and the Edna and Yu Shan Han Foundation for her current studies in UCLA.
