After years of playing various clubs around New York City, virtuoso guitarist Dominic Frasca decided to build The Monkey. The Chelsea space began as a haven for performers looking for a more intimate audible experience. Since its inception the concept and venue have evolved to incorporate and serve a growing community of multi-media artists, presenters, and patrons. The Monkey now serves the local artist collective as well as new creators looking to go beyond the standard- realizing their vision in a progressive environment equipped for a new age of communication.
