CLAVES UNIDOS is a kinetic tour of dance with African roots.

Artistic Director, Kevin LaMarr Jones believes that beyond the barriers of race, gender, geography, language and religion - it is the African presence in art, music and dance that unites the world.

Through CLAVES UNIDOS (rough translation: United Rhythms) people experience, discover, share and celebrate the historical, political and social connections of African dances world-wide. It is full-bodied, globally-inspired, and historically-based.

Performances, classes and workshops showcase the beauty and diversity of movement that is poly-rhythmic, percussive, full-bodied and expressive.

Our goal is to present African dance in an environment that removes the barriers of bias, geography, nationalism, language and religion, bringing people together around artistic expression that is life and community-affirming.
