No Divas is putting the polish on its 4th annual Fall concert at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Saturday, November 19, 2016. This emerging eight-voice ensemble delivers a rounded handful of great tunes from around the world. From show tunes to rock to renaissance to 40's swing to African to opera to jazz standards there's plenty of something for everyone.
No Divas is the latest offering from award-winning conductor and arranger, Josh Gitomer. Founder and director of Mount Madonna Choir and Pacific Voices, Josh thought he had safely retired a few years back, but as you know, life is what happens when youve made other plans. This time around he has honed it down to a well blended, close knit company of satin voices serving up a wide-ranging but seamless 20-song repertoire.
You will be treated to the pipes of Sarah Riddick, Nicole Benjamin, Edy Rhodes, Antonina Hines, Carolyn Jackson, Vivian Moutafian, Laura Schanzer and Suki Wessling all soloists in their own right, but not a diva in the group! We'll be joined by Jay Jackson on piano, Al Globus on guitar, and Deby Benton Grosjean on fiddle, Eric Braun on percussion, plus a few surprise guest artists. Come share the evening with us!
