Come learn about an eco-friendly, energy-efficient, healthy construction approach using industrial hemp fibers, lime and water. This event will also experiment with regional stalk fibers, pioneering waste reclamation innovation and promoting regional resiliency research. We welcome Klara Marosszeky, Australian hemp industry leader, hemp masonry business developer, Aboriginal economic development advocate, and sustainability educator, who will tour northern California and end her journey with this workshop at the Trinidad Rancheria, home of the Cher-ae Indian Community tribal offices and outdoor amphitheater, located at 1 Cher-ae Lane, Trinidad, CA 95570 . Join us for this hands-on construction workshop of a demonstration corner wall, brief film screening, and hemp product sampling on August 12, 13, an 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with 1 hour break for lunch. Participants are asked to bring their own personal protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and masks (for dust and lime). It will be held both indoors and outdoors, so hats and sunscreen are also advised. Please bring your own lunch or prepare to , and attendees from out of the area are encouraged to reserve lodging as soon as possible. The cost through this site is $30/day or $75/3-day workshop, plus service fee for ticketing and non-profit admin.
