Hello all;
This is a house concert not to be missed.
Our last two shows introduced our local audience to the Brazilian musical form of Choro - an energetic and beautiful blend of classical, samba and jazz, and a musical genre unique for it's level of instantaneous interaction between the musicians.
This time we've got the real deal -- Trio Brasiliero from Sao Paulo and Brasilia, joined by their good friend and world-renowned jazz clarinet player Anat Cohen. Having these four in an intimate home-based venue is a true treat.

If you were at our last house concert and enjoyed it, come again, and bring your friends. If you missed it last time, here's another chance to see great music in an up-close-and-personal setting. If you can't make it, tell your friends anyway!
Trio Brasileiro includes the celebrated guitarist and full time member of the award-winning Brasil Guitar Duo, Douglas Lora; one of Brazil's finest mandolin virtuosos, Dudu Maia, and the amazing percussionist and brother of Douglas, Alexandre Lora. They will be joined by Anat Cohen on clarinet. Trust me, it's kind of like New Orleans meets Sao Paulo, with lots of extra texture thrown in for good measure.
A couple of links follow to whet your appetite. However, recordings cannot convey the incredible energy that these four have playing together - it has to be seen and felt in person. I've gotten to know these guys over the past couple of years, and am very happy to be able to bring them here to play for my friends.

As you can see from her schedule, Anat typically plays much larger venues than a living room, so this is a very special event.

This will be a gathering of many people who know each other one
way or another, so we want to give it a community feel. We will
frontload the event with some food and drink, but ask that you also bring a small contribution of food or beverage to share. This will be a two hour, two set gig, starting at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 6, with the doors opening around 6:30 PM. There is ample street parking.
We have a suggested $25 ticket price for this event. If you would like to attend, and want or need to be either more or less generous than the $25 ticket price, please send me a message, and we will take care of that at the door, rather than through the Brown Paper Tickets link. However, we have added a "Patron of the Arts" ticket level at $50 for those who wish to be more generous.
