BALKANSKY is an audio-visual art project that combines traditional Bulgarian music with electronic sound and vision.It is realized in collaboration between one of Bulgaria's leading music producers Ivo "Kuker" Hristov, world-renown DJ and electronic music performer Ivan Shopov and features Theodosii Spassov, a highly accomplished, internationally recognized recording artist and performer of kaval (Bulgarian shepherd flute). The project is presented as a live act and it includes music performed by Theodosii Spassov, mixed with unique electronic sounds and beats by Ivan Shopov and interactive musical visuals from Ivo Christov. This artistic collaboration can be described as a live jam session of images and music, both acoustic and electronic, which creates unique cultural experience for performers and audiences alike. Combining motives from the ancient Bulgarian folklore and contemporary technology, the artists build a bridge between the past and present and in doing so are able to attract audiences of all ages to the old music traditions of our country.
