The 2015 Lyons Film Festival on June 5th and 6th is the new gateway to Colorado's film makers and creative talent. Idyllic Lyons Colorado is a must-stop destination now for film on your way to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Lyons is just 15 minutes north of Boulder. The inaugural year of the Lyons Film Festival will showcase some well known films such as Hannah Ranch by foremost documentarian Mitch Dickman to some of the many known local Colorado independent film makers such as the cinematographer of the Cove Eric Abramsons, who will be sharing his most recently directed project Scrambled Vision. We also have the World Premiere of Comes With baggage for all those bikers out there covering the history of bike touring. Categories of film range from Philanthropy, Colorado in The West to Adventure Films. If you are curious about this creative art and you'd like to get a better understanding how such a task as creating a film from conception to the big screen is possible question and answer sessions after all the films with some of the directors can provide that valuable insight. This festival schedule (like the town) will be easy to navigate. It will showcase films through out the entire town including the Lyons Cinema , Red Fox Outdoor Equipment, and Oskar Blues Brewery. As you stroll from venue to venue we will reveal the history of our resilient town and many hidden gems here including a free kids film venue and Local film makers block in a very unique venue called Tiny, the once Lyons jail cell. Accompanying all these creative visionaries selling their items in SandStone Park will be talented musicians such as local Boulder Bands Banshee Tree and Intuit rocking out at the screening venues as well as at our beautiful SandStone Park where you can relax and have one of Heirloom Food Trucks grass fed burgers or a a cold Uplsope beer. To end the day of film, an awards party will be held to celebrate those filmmaker's hard efforts at Oskar Blues Brewery at 10:00 followed by prolific Android Jones VJing to one of his graphic master peaces in SandStone Park under the stars.See you there!
