Dale Kristien is best known for her portrayal of Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, a role she played for over 1700 performances, both on Broadway andfor the entire 4 1/2 record-breaking years in Los Angeles.
She starred with the original Phantom, Michael Crawford, on Broadway, then they premiered the show together in Los Angeles. She and Mr. Crawford have continued their alliance ever since, appearing together in concert all over the world, in television specials, as well as for 5 U.S. Presidents and one English Prince.
Dale first appeared on Broadway in CAMELOT starring the original King Arthur Richard Burton, followed by the original film King Arthur, Richard Harris. She then played the role of Magnolia on Broadway in the Houston Grand Opera production of SHOW BOAT starring Donald O'Connor.
Dale's career has included her own concerts, countless musicals, television appearances, her album "The Beauty of Broadway", and even cruising the high seas. She continues to donate her time to such worthy causes as AIDS, Alzheimer's, The American Heart Association, The Actors' Fund, and Breast Cancer.
Bill Hutton created the role of Joseph in the original Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. He originated the role of Aucassin ("Aucassin and Nicolette") in FESTIVAL: A ZANY NEW MUSICAL which played San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C. and off-Broadway in New York at City Center. He starred in the original musical based on the Warner Brothers film, THE WRONG BOX, and was honored with a LADCC nomination for the role of Marvin in the West Coast premier of William Finn's IN TROUSERS. Many other shows include the BLAME IT ON THE MOVIES! Series in Los Angeles, Florida and off-Broadway in New York, A LOVELY WAY TO SPEND AN EVENING, THE GAY 90's MUSICAL and starred in L.A. Premier of LIFE X 3. Regionally he has performed in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, BRIGADOON, CALL ME MADAM, THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT THE SMELL OF THE CROWD, MY FAIR LADY, and THE FULL MONTY to mention a few. Mr. Hutton has performed in concert around the country including with the San Diego Symphony.
He was a part of Catalina Production Group, Ltd, a film, stage and television production company, producing and running The Coast Playhouse in West Hollywood under the LLC Coast To Coast Productions, LTD (Franklin R. Levy, Roger Berlind & Gregory Harrison). Some of the shows produced were BENT, WHY HANNAH'S SHIRT WON'T STAY DOWN, WOMEN BEHIND BARS and CHILD'S PLAY. He has appeared in 27 of the 30 S.T.A.G.E. Benefits in Los Angeles for APLA and the S.T.A.G.E. TOO Benefits for The Actor's Fund and numerous other benefits around the country. Mr. Hutton can be heard on the recordings of S.T.A.G.E. Other recordings include JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, FESTIVAL, THE GAY 90's MUSICAL, SONGS FOR EX-LOVERS AND WIVES including THE HAPPIEST SEASON OF ALL, with Dale Kristien, a recording of their annual Holiday show that they have been performing in and around the Los Angeles area for the last 20 years. He has performed his cabaret act in Los Angeles and now spends most of his time in New York City.
