Experience jazz, classical, and world music in a whole new way
as the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble explores the music of the world with the artists of Trio Globo featuring Chicago area resident Howard Levy.
This night of international sounds has everything from serene melodies to driving dance beats; from European classical colorings to Native American influences.
It's a family-friendly performance featuring a pre-concert Instrument Petting Zoo where kids can touch and play various instruments, and a post-concert talk-back with the musicians.
Trio Globo emerges as a totally original voice in contemporary acoustic jazz. With rhythmic influences derived from travels in six continents, Trio Globo has a combustible spontaneity rooted in jazz, classical and sacred music. Grammy award-winning cellist Eugene Friesen, harmonica virtuoso and pianist Howard Levy (a double Grammy winner formerly of The Flecktones), and world-renowned percussionist Glen Velez (Percussive Arts Society the Hall of Fame), are true originals reinventing their instruments in new music which is both personal and global.
"Eugene, Howard & Glen are magnificent players with distinct musical voices. Together they have a fresh new sound and offer a unique vision of the world of music." -- DAVE BRUBECK
