FILM // PLAY Detroit A one night stand with Screen and Stage January 23rd at 6pm Film//Play Detroit invites people to get an intimate look at the film and theater industries of Detroit. This original blend of film and theater offers a crossover that invites audience members to see the similarities and differences in film and theater. Along with a panel discussion that will educate and inspire, this is one blind date you will want to go on.
Film Play Detroit will be showcasing new works by noted Detroit filmmakers, Anton Bassey, Myron Watkins and Hayward Crawford. There will also be a showing of an original play written and directed by Aaron Timlin. The panel discussion is designed to aspiring local actors, writers and directors a chance to engage with successful local professionals, and learn what it takes to break into the Detroit's burgeoning theater and film scene. Panelist include: Mike McGettigan, actor who specializes in improvisation, Henri Franklin, actor and teacher, Molly McMahon, actor and director, Anton Bassey, actor and curator, and Marshalle Montgomery, actor and curator.
Film Play Detroit provides a networking and knowledge sharing experience in the comfortable setting of the Tangent Gallery. This event is meant for anyone who is interested in film and theater in Detroit. A lively panel discussion kicks off the evening at 6pm, then a short break to network and socialize, and then the show starts at 8pm. Tickets available now!
