4th Annual Harmony and Motion International Music and Dance Festival
The Harmony & Motion International Music and Dance Festival is San Diego's premier theater production that features the very best world music and dance performers in San Diego. Enjoy an entire afternoon with the finest international music and dance performed in the Casa del Prado Theater in beautiful and historic Balboa Park.
Whether your tastes are Spanish Flamenco, Indonesian Gamelan, Japanese Taiko, Trans-cultural Jazz, Afro-Cuban Percussion and Dance, Ballet Folklorico, Persian Dasgah, Native American Dance, Filipino Tribal Music and Dance, Afro-Cuban, Brazillian or Eastern European Klezmer, you will find it at Harmony & Motion.
Don't know much about these performance traditions? Fear not, the head of University of San Diego's Music Department, Dr. David Harnish will be on hand to introduce performers and give you the low down on the culture and history. This year we are proud to partner with KDSD Jazz 88.3, San Diego's best radio station for World Music!
Take a sensual journey around the world with your ears, eyes and mind at Harmony and Motion! At intermissions and breaks enjoy our delicious snack and beverage bars (with exotic treats from around the world) or try one of the many delicious snacks and meals sold by our festival food vendors like Brazil Snacks and the acclaimed (voted San Diego's Best!) Vietnamese restaurant, Phuong Trang. There will also be a silent auction with culturally themed baskets allowing to take some world culture home with you!
The 2013 Harmony and Motion is a co-production of The Worldview Project and San Diego Civic Dance Arts.
