Lark Meadows Farm Concert: CHORO DAS 3
Lark Meadows Farm invites you to the second concert of the season featuring Choro das 3, an acoustic ensemble from the Sao Paulo region of Brazil.
Comprised of three sisters and their father, Choro das 3 combines mandolin, flute, 7-string guitar and pandiero (Brazilian tambourine). Both exotic and familiar, Choro is the early street music of Brazil, influenced by equal parts Afro-Brazilian rhythms and the cafe music of Italy, France and Spain. This family spearheaded a Choro revival in Brazil, and are well known for their mastery of traditional forms as well as their innovation within the genre.
Choro das 3 has entertained audiences around the world and has been met with enthusiasm for their engaging performances. Music critics have called them, "the newest and most talented musicians in the Brazilian landscape" and "a real gift for instrumental music fans; happy, eclectic and innovative."
Lark Meadows Farm provides a lovely setting with a beautiful view of Manastash Ridge. Doors open at 5:30pm; come early, bring a picnic, and enjoy the farm's springtime bounty. Or make a weekend of it--camping is available, and there are numerous galleries and shops in nearby Historic Downtown Ellensburg, as well as countless hikes and recreational opportunities.
