Event
Mamajowali at Devil Mountain Coffee House
To hear these three virtuoso musicians from far-flung places collaborate is to take in three souls, listening and greeting one another in a universal languageseamlessly interweaving two continents and three bright musical sensibilities. The blend of kamala ngoni (the hunter's harp) with six-string guitar, percussion, fiddle, mandolin and singing is uncommon and familiar while traditional and innovativeall at the same time.
Mamajowali is "Afromericana" music. Mamadou Sidibe is an award winning musician and master of the kamale ngoni (hunter's harp). Multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven was percussionist/ violinist with David Grisman. Fingerstyle guitar ace Walter Strauss draws on American roots, world music traditions, and jazz to create a sound uniquely his own.
