Carl's 30th Birthday Benefit Bash
Hey y'all! I'm turning 30 years old this July, and i figured: what better way to celebrate than to get some of my favorite bands together, invite all my friends, and raise money for a rad community organization that I adore? So that's what we're doing!
The party is starting promptly at 8pm, and the night will be jam packed with great music, featuring:
Remember When We Trashed the Golf Course (political folk punk)
Banda Sin Nombre: mixing folk music from around the world, from Peruvian chicha to Catalan rumba and Appalachian old time to cumbia.
Maracatu Pacifico: drums and dance from northeastern Brazil
Bicicletas por la Paz: latin circus funk. hell yeah!
Mission Delirium: booty-shaking brass band
And one of my best buds, DJ Gio will be spinning all night too!
All the funds will be donated to Loco Bloco, a great organization in SF's Mission District that engages young people in learning and creating music, dance, and theater. www.locobloco.org
