On January 28, 2017, Place des Arts welcomes Rosie Carver and Celtic Band Blackthorn to perform for the Faculty Performance Series.
Join us for our fifth year of celebrating Scotlands National Bard Robbie Burns! Fiddler and faculty member Rosie Carver with Celtic Band Blackthorn and a special guest piper feature the musical traditions of Scotland with a special focus on Burns songs.
Come for the concert at 7:30pm or come early at 6pm to enjoy a delicious Scottish-inspired supper and stay on for the concert. From lively jigs and reels to heart-wrenching airs and ballads, you will savour Blackthorns rendition of Scottish melodies and the intricately woven harmonies that bring this music to life in a new way, amply flavoured with humour and above all else, fun!
At the end of the first set, the guest piper will pipe in the haggis and recite the Address to a Haggis. (Yes, we promise to share a wee sampling of this traditional delicacy with you!)
Note: Dinner tickets will only be sold through Place des Arts directly. Please contact if you are interested.
