Swankenstein's Swizzle Stick Cinema presents "Korla"

In the category of weird, unusual and incredibly strange entertainers, Korla Pandit stands heads above those who rode in his wake. His jeweled turban, the hypnotizing gaze into the camera and his innovative exotic organ playing all earned him the moniker the godfather of exotica. The mysterious musician would go on to be a huge influence on the likes of everyone from Santana to The Cramps to The Muffs and many others, all the while harbouring a secret his entire life which would only be uncovered after his death. All of this and more is lovingly documented in the wonderful new film "Korla" by John Turner and Eric Christensen.

The film's producers have given us the opprotunity to present "Korla" in a special Toronto premiere at The Shore Leave Tiki Bar in Toronto. Join us for a pre-screening Cocktail Party and sip on classic and custom TIKI cocktails while DJ Swankenstein spins Korla Pandit records and rare Exotica vinyl. Then, sit back and enjoy an exclusive screening of what is being referred to as "the best musical documentary of the year."
