About the  Kirtan artists:

Yogacharya KALI DAS has been a Kirtan Wallah for over 25 years, travelling and sharing the transformative practice of chanting mantra. AMAH DEVI is a Bhakti yoga teacher and community mentor who has been on the path of sacred chant since she was a child. With a background in both classical piano and West African drumming, Amah's engaging approach to Kirtan creates an atmosphere of divine play this is a true joy to get lost in.

LUNA RAY  is a teacher of yoga, a workshop and retreat leader, kirtan musician, recording artist, and an activist for conscious and empowered community collaboration.  As an advocate for wellness and spiritual growth, Luna works with the deep intention of inspiring and encouraging humans to cultivate an awareness of their inherent wisdom.  Luna believes that by coming together, and using the tools of yoga, including mantra and meditation, we are led to our hearts deepest desires, and we build the strength to act upon them.

SANGITA DEVI is a Kirtan group based in Asheville, North Carolina. They have been offering a weekly Kirtan practice since 2003. Directly translated, Sangita Devi means Songs of the Divine Mother. Over the years Sangita Devi  has been fortunate to play with many of the premier Kirtan Wallahs including Jai Uttal, Dave Stringer, Donna Delorey, Bhagavan Das and David Newman  to name a few.
Their Kirtan style can be best described as deep, ecstatic, powerful and driving.

NAMANADA is a Psychill Space Dub Bhakti super-group, featuring members of Asheville, NC based bands A Ghost Like Me, I,Star, LunaMela, & Sangita Devi. Namanada creates a musical-scape of mantra-infused modern electronica sounds. Nama in Sanskrit means "I bow in reverence". Nada in Sanskrit means "Mystical Sound" (OM) Nada is a reference to "Nada Yoga" which means "union through sound." It is the ancient spiritual art and science of inner transformation through sound and tone. Meditation on sound is one universal path to Self Realization, accessible to anyone, and appropriate for people of any religion or spiritual aspiration. The electro-acoustical kirtan style music of Namanada has inspired dance and flow arts and kirtan enthusiasts alike. Namanada is Brad Rogers (Guitar, Bass, Loops, Synths),Melanie Leenhouts (Vocals, Harmonium, Electronics) and Michal Oliver (Congas, Djembe, Hand Sonic)

Color Faire MC  WYNNE PARIS  is a Kirtan pioneer who has spent the last 20 years performing and creating yoga music.  Wynne's introduction to Kirtan was initiated by AMMA , the hugging saint, when Wynne accompanied her on guitar during a  Washington DC satsang visit.. In 1997, Wynne began performing and recording with Krishna Das, playing Sarod, Guitar and Saz on the groundbreaking "'Pilgrim Heart'" and " All One" cds. Wynne has played well over 1,000 kirtans at yoga studios, festivals, ashrams and gatherings around the country. "His mood-enhancing mantra music  will have you up off your seat and dancing in no time," says Yoga Journal

JOJO SILVERMAN  is the creator of the healing modality Prayerful Resonance, and visionary of the Devotional Music Foundation. He has been a student of yoga, meditation, holistic health, chanting, hand percussion, and fire-keeping for 20 years. Using sound in the exploration of consciousness to connect  hearts and minds is his gift and mission. JoJo created the Devotional Music Foundation in 1999 to promote the sacredness of music as a force for healing our planet. Since then, he has been leading kirtans and chanting workshops internationally. In 2008 he released the album Bhagavan Kripa: A Kirtan of Grace, a kirtan tribute to Swami Kripalvananda. Later that year he developed Prayerful Resonance Chant Activation, a specialized healing modality that uses prayer and sound.  JoJo believes strongly in the use of prayer and sound for recognizing and remembering our wholeness, and dedicates his life to the practice of these arts. He currently resides in Asheville NC, focusing on his healing work and music-as-prayer.
