Ensemble 212 & MuSE Chorus present "Voices in Harmony"
Ensemble 212 & Multicultural Sonic Evolution (MuSE) Chorus team up for their first collaboration titled "Voices in Harmony."

This season finale concert for Ensemble 212 will feature the world premiere of "Orche-mino" by Composer in Residence Texu Kim.  This piece was composed especially for Ensemble 212 and the title of the work is a compilation of the words orchestra and domino.  Inspired by the YouTube video clip "Insane Domino Trick" done by domino artist Hevesh5, the music captures the modern, dazzling, and playful nature of the domino art and contains sound effects contained in a simultaneous video presentation along with the music.  As a musical pun, Kim emphasizes the solfege notes Do (C, C Sharp and C Flat) and Mi (E, E Sharp and E Flat) throughout the piece.

Two Co-Grand Prize winners of Ensemble 212's annual Young Artist Competition, William Zhou and Alyssa Kim will be featured. Pianist William, 11, will perform the first movement of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor and Alyssa, 14, will play the third movement of Saint-Saëns' Violin Concerto in B Minor.

Joining Ensemble 212 is the newly formed MuSE Chorus on  several choral works including Mozart's popular Coronation Mass in C Major, a movement from Mendelssohn's dazzling A Midsummer Night's Dream and the world premiere of "Song of the Earth" by choral director Yui Kitamura.
