Your [ ____ ] Neighborhood
Forward Flux Productions with Parley and Nate Omdal Productions presents Your [ ____ ] Neighborhood, an exhibition of new works investigating gentrification. This one-night-only event marks the completion of an artists' residency program called collaborate:create. 21 artists have worked across disciplines to create new works in 21 days that investigate this timely topic. Engage with art and artists to make your voice heard!
The exhibition has a pARTy atmosphere with a full evening of new works including dance, film, visual art, 10min plays, performative and multimedia installations, music, and more, all exploring the changing face of Seattle's neighborhoods. There will be opportunities to meet the artists, and engage in conversation with your fellow neighbors at the show.
Cash bar on site.
This diverse group of artists includes six playwrights from Parley playwrights group and three musicians that form the Nate Omdal Trio. In addition to new works, the exhibition highlights the artists' creative processes as a platform to foster the artist-audience relationship. Your [ ____ ] Neighborhood marks the culmination of the fifth cycle of collaborate:create, and the first in Seattle. The program started in NYC in 2013, and continues there now (the 6th cycle is running concurrently in NYC investigating the same theme; exhibition date: May 17th in Brooklyn).
The Seattle based artists, playwrights, and musicians involved in this cycle of collaborate:create are as follows: Benjamin Benne, Sheri Brown, Grace Carmack, Caitlin Coey, Rachel Delmar, Kyle Doran, Ryan Fields, Amber Hughes, Barry Johnson, Elise Koncsek, Cade MaGee, Sue McNally, Angel O'Leary, Nate Omdal, Sydney M Pertl, Anthony Phillips, James Price, Ashley Rang, Brian Reindel, Cara Romanik, and Emma Watt.
