Vocalist, pianist, composer, and choirmaster Polina (Skovoroda) Shepherd is one of the most prominent Yiddish artists to emerge from the lands of the former Soviet Union. In a conversation with festival Artistic Director Seth Rogovoy, Polina will talk about her journey from Siberia and the state of Tatarstan, where she grew up, to becoming a member of Russia's first Klezmer band after Perestroika and the principal Yiddish choir leader in the nation. She may also be persuaded to share a few of her gorgeous original songs, and will take part in a Q&A.
