Best known as the co-founder, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of the Grammy Award-winning Klezmatics, Lorin Sklamberg has also worked for more than two decades at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, where he serves as sound archivist. In this multi-media chat, Lorin will present a sampling of some of the rare treasures found in YIVO's holdings of commercial and private sound documents, including materials drawn from the collection of the legendary folklorist and singer Ruth Rubin, and discusses how it has influenced him as a performer and teacher. _____________________________________________________________
