Joseph Akins

For many years, Dr. Joseph Akins (pronounced "Ache-ins") has lived a parallel life between being a piano artist and a college professor.

As a pianist and composer, he has released three solo albums titled Keys to the Heart, Masterpeace and Spirit Touch. The latter was selected as one of the Top Albums of the Decade by www.mainlypiano.com. He has been touring the country performing his heartfelt music in churches, homes and performance halls often sharing the stage with piano artists such as David Lanz, Liz Story and David Nevue.

Holding a doctorate in education, "Dr. A" is an award-winning associate professor at the prestigious Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University where he teaches courses in music and MIDI production. Pro Tools MIDI, a DVD tutorial, has just been released by Multiplatinum Pro Tools.
