Fiddle-icious is a fun-loving Maine orchestra playing fiddle, piano, harp, guitar, banjo, mandolin, flute, accordion, cello, tin whistle, concertina, upright bass, and bagpipes. Their tunes are passed down from the Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, and Acadian traditions and include reels, jigs, marches, hornpipes, waltzes, step-dancing, and beautiful singing harmonies.
Don and Cindy Roy, recipients of a National Heritage Fellowship, are the driving forces behind the magic of Fiddle-icious. Don, a designated Master Fiddler from Gorham, ME, is hailed as a living cultural treasure. Keeping the heartbeat of the group even and steady on piano is Dons wife and musical partner, Cindy Roy. Both Don and Cindy grew up in French-Canadian families where music was an integral part of their lives, and continue to share their endless passion for the spirit of the old-fashioned kitchen party, keeping this musical heritage alive and well for future generations.
