Rope Class: Sensual Floor Work w/ Ian Michaels
If you're like a lot of rope tops you can't wait until you get someone into suspension. But what if your skill levels haven't gotten there yet? What if you don't have any hard point that can be used for suspension? What if you just want to play on the floor?
This workshop is not a technical presentation of munters, half-hitches, takate kotes or futomomos. This workshop will focus on playing on the floor with your partner. It will focus on connecting with your partner using sensual techniques. But don't be taken aback, these skills can also be used in a sadistic fashion as well.
This workshop will discuss:
1.How to tie safely and consensually
2.Choosing a starting point for a tie,
3.how to structure multi-rope ties, transitioning between floor tie sequences,
4.How to use tension, bodyweight, etc. to maximize the experience.
Requirements:
1.Competency with basic ties
2.2 3 30ft lengths of rope. Im a rope agnostic so whatever you use will work (nylon, jute, hemp)
3.Towel or yoga mat to soften the floor

Presenter Bio:
Ian Michaels (Mike) is the owner of a professional massage therapy practice in New Jersey. After a successful career in the information technology industry Mike decided to embark on a new career that would enable him to assist with the rehabilitation of clients with various medical issues. Mike graduated from one of the top massage therapy schools in the country. After graduation Mike continued his education to become credentialed in the field of "Massage for Cancer Patients", "Healthy Breast Massage", "Active Isolated Stretching" and "Neuromuscular Therapy".
In addition to providing massage therapy services to his clients, Mike has provided continuing education courses for massage therapists. Amongst these courses are NJ Law, Business Ethics, Massage for Cancer Patients, Massage for Medical Based Patients and Massage for the HIV/AIDS Patient. Mike was also on the faculty of a nationally recognized massage therapy school, where he taught anatomy and physiology, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage and business.
