Mill Road Scenic Overlook Hike
The Mill Road Scenic Overlook is one of the most scenic locations in our region. It is ideally located along the newly designated WNY Southtowns Scenic Byway. The property is also one of Auroras most important natural areas. It includes 18 acres of mature forest with a dense hemlock grove, an intermittent stream, a sedge marsh and 30 acres of open meadow that support rare grassland bird species including nesting populations of bobolinks. The land was protected in 2013 by the Western New York Land Conservancy and the Town of Aurora.
Attendees are encouraged to wear long pants and boots, as the area contains knee-high grasses and some wet/soggy areas. Parking is available at the Overlook and along Mill Road.
Ticket price includes a 1-year membership to the Western New York Land Conservancy.
