Ballet at the Lake Workshop and Performance
Ballet at the Lake was created to offer an in-depth experience with ballet for adults.
Morning Adult Beginners Ballet Class
Led by accomplished dance artist Sejain Bastidas, this 90 minute class offers participants an opportunity to connect with ballet in a supportive, beautiful lake front environment on stage under the Ferro Pavilion.
For: Adult Beginners/Intermediate (18+)
Date: August 28th
Time: 9am (please arrive 15 minutes early to check in)
What to Bring:
Comfortable dance attire or tight-fitting athletic clothes
Ballet shoes/tight fitting socks
A water bottle
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
Evening Performance
Ballet at the Lake will include a ticket to the evening performance of Dawn Springer Dance Project's Sylph.
Performed under the beautiful lakefront Ferro Pavilion, 5 professional ballet dancers from Milwaukee Ballet and beyond bring celebrated choreographer Dawn Springer's critically acclaimed performance, Sylph, to the shores of Geneva Lake. Surrounded by nature with a score by renowned experimental percussionist and composer, Jon Mueller, the immersive contemporary dance and sound experience re-imagines the fairy-like Sylphs of folktales, challenging the stereotypes of the ballerinas who are tasked to portray them.
