Politics & Prose and Sixth & I Present BOB BOILEN IN CONVERSATION WITH CARRIE BROWNSTEIN
Boilen's lifelong engagement with music ranges from clerking in a record store, composing his own songs, and performing with the band Tiny Desk Unit to selecting the buttons (tunes between stories on NPR) and his current role as host of NPR Music's All Songs Considered and the Tiny Desk Concerts, programs he also founded. Out of all hes heard, what has made the greatest impression?
He put the question to many of today's leading musical artists, including Jimmy Page, Cat Power, Jackson Browne, Philip Glass, and others; their responses are special and often intimate glimpses of the individuals behind the big names, while, collectively, the essays in YOUR SONG CHANGED MY LIFE are a vibrant tribute to the enduring power of music.
Boilen will be joined by musician and writer Carrie Brownstein, co-creator of Portlandia, guitarist in Sleater Kinney and author of HUNGER MAKES ME A REAL GIRL.
