Monday Night ForePlays
After sold out shows November thru March, PianoFight's Monday Night ForePlays has proven to be the Monday night hot spot for hilarious sketches, original dance numbers, musical performances and stand-up comedians. Written, directed and produced by an all-star group of female talent, ForePlays premieres its fourth all new show in six months on April 5 at 8pm, and runs every Monday evening until April 26 in Studio250 at Off-Market, located at 965 Mission Street between 5th Street and 6th Streets. Monday Night ForePlays is the perfect way to start the week with a show that is quirky, fun, sexy and silly! The April line-up features original sketches touching on absurd subjects like dictator cooking competitions and nursery rhyme therapy, along with new interpretations of real-life subjects like airport security complications and kindergarten politics. This month, ForePlays is also excited to welcome a guest piece written by San Francisco-based female comedy group âHobo Pancakes.â As always, the show will also feature new dance numbers and a rotating line-up of musical acts including Glitterous, Rana Weber, Bochan and Arlen Hart, as well as comedians Emily Heller, Rachel McDowell and Chris Burns.
In an effort to create strong roles for women and bring the female point-of-view to sketch comedy, Ruth Grossinger and Kate Jones gathered a mix of talented women, including Nicole Hammersla, Jess Mele, Emma Rose Shelton and Derricka Smith, to further this goal. Through several writing workshops and production meetings, Monday Night ForePlays was born to offer inspired artistic competition within San Franciscoâs Monday night entertainment pool.
ForePlaysâ all-star team of writers, actors, directors and producers includes Kelly Aneken, Alex Boyd, Jed Rapp Goldstein, Ruth Grossinger, Nicole Hammersla, Raymond Hobbes, Isa Hopkins, Kate Jones, Jessica Mele, Rachel Rockwood, Debra Schifrin, Anna Seregina, Emma Rose Shelton, Derricka Smith and Meredith Terry.
PIANOFIGHT LLC is an SF-based production company founded by Rob Ready and Dan Williams. PianoFight is a managing partner of Off-Market Theaters, and has produced original works, premiered all-new shows, created and developed an online web series, and cut numerous short films, all while remaining true to its commitment of producing new work by local artists.
