Once upon a time, two grieving, gently-bred sisters were ousted from their home to survive as best they could in the real world. The eldest lost her heart to a gentleman secretly promised to someoen else--and she had only her respect for his kindness and integrity to comfort her. Her younger, wilder sister was wooed by two men--one very, very good and the other very, very wicked.
