Si Molesto Con Mi Canto: A Concert of New Socio-Political Works
Edge Theatre Productions presents a smattering of vibrant movement theatre pieces, dance, and abstract political art explorations. What kind of theatre do we need now as we traverse into the year 2005? As Augusto Boal says in his book "Theatre of the Oppressed", "Theatre can be a weapon for liberation." This is loud, bold and fearless material by Seattle directors and choreographers, a call to speak out. Also: visual art by local artists will be on display an hour prior to showtime.
Project Initiators/ Creators: Carla Barragan, Dorothy Cosby, Dolphin (Julia Trahn), Nicole Pearson and Roxanne Ray.
Note: Some themes call for bold imagery, such as war images, including some photography, as well as burlesque sensuality in one of the pieces.
