Playback Theater presents: Unexpected Endings, An Evening of Stories and Improv, 7:30pm
When events in your life took a turn towards something different than you thought, something unexpected, how did you respond? Did you grieve? Did you celebrate? Did you turn and run away?
Whatever your response, the Portland Playback community wants to hear about it! Please join us for Unexpected Endings: An Evening of Stories and Improv. In this performance, you, the audience member, are invited to share your story about those surprising endings, while the Playback performers respectfully enact your story back to you. In the process, this enactment will hopefully reveal to you something about your own experience.
Come join the community and explore this topic with artistry, trust, play and respect. Let's see what can be created together! Let's watch!
About Playback Theater:
Playback Theater is an improvisational form of theater whereby audience members tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot by actors and musicians. Playback is a vehicle not only of personal expression, but a way to connect with the past and create a future. It is powerful and creative, allowing diverse voices to be heard and respected.
Public shows are:
* Original - no two shows are ever the same
* Create a comfortable forum to hear and tell personal stories
* Honors the individual voice of the story teller
* Builds community in a creative and engaging manner
* Wildly entertaining!
"It's like nothing I've ever seen -part campfire stories, part drama, dance, metaphor, comedy, and improv all mixed in with an exuberant sort of ecstatic informal community therapy!" - Audience Member
