LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS
The play centers on middle-aged, married, Barney Cashman who wants to join the sexual revolution before its too late. He takes advantage of the fact that his mother's NYC apartment is unoccupied during the day. Each of the three acts sees Barney bring a different woman to the apartment. A gentle soul with no experience in adultery, he fails in each of three seductions -- a sexpot who likes cigarettes, whiskey, and other women's husbands, a young actress friend who he discovers is completely out of her mind, and his wife's best friend, a frustrated, staunch moralist. Being a beginner at adultery, and with the vastly different personalities of the women to contend with, things go hilariously, and sometimes poignantly, wrong each time.
