The Luminary hosts Cat Mahari's the floor, a dance performance, that will transform the Entry Gallery into a stepper's club.
the floor is a dance theatre work intrigued with repetition as a critical component of transformation in love, partnership, and individual experience. It weaves archetypes derived from folklore of diverse cultures, musics, and abstract imagery, to explore their presence in modern living. Taking the idea of a "steppers night" as its starting point, those social dance-evenings held in late night bars and ballrooms, the floor draws on traditional influences for contemporary revelation.
