In 2006, the only remaining debates about climate change appeared to be "how bad is it and how fast is it happening?" Economists, scientists, evangelicals, all tell us that the time to act is now if we hope to slow down and avoid the worst consequences of global climate change. Dr. Mark Trexler will review how companies are responding to the climate change issue in light of the many stakeholders who are involved. Does your business have a strategy?
Dr. Mark C. Trexler is the president and founder of Trexler Climate + Energy Services, Inc. (TC+ES), an energy and environmental policy consulting firm based in Portland. TC+ES has specialized in the provision of policy, strategic, and project-related climate change services to the private sector since 1991. TC+ES has been a leader in the development of voluntary and mandatory greenhouse gas markets, including the design and funding of carbon offset projects around the world. He authors a bi-weekly "Ask the Expert" column at www.climatebiz.com, has published extensively on technical and policy issues relating to climate change mitigation, and served as a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
