The Importance of Being Earnest
New Muses Theatre Company presents
Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest"
Playing at the Roxy Theater in Morton, WA.
Directed by Niclas R. Olson
Witty, insightful, and unflinchingly roguish, this comic masterpiece tackles love, marriage, and art in high Victorian style. "The Importance of Being Earnest" is the perfect night out for couples, families, or groups.
Jack (Alexander Peterson, "To Be Frank") and Algernon (Jesse Cantin, "Beauty and the Beast") are eligible bachelors living the high life in late nineteenth century London. Jack and Algernon are in love with Gwendolen (Ashley Nelson, "To Be Frank") and Cecily (Heather Goff, "A Midsummer Night's Dream"). Unfortunately both Gwendolen and Cecily have always dreamed of marrying a man named Ernest, and only a man named Earnest. As Jack and Algernon struggle to conceal their true identities and win the women they love, the hilarious plot erupts with one twist after another. Traveling from London to the English countryside, "The Importance of Being Earnest" is a witty and charming play from the brilliant Oscar Wilde. Also starring Fred Schwindt, Miranda Rowland, and Laverne "Cookie" Troxel as Lady Bracknell.
