Three Tall Women
This is a play by America's greatest living playwright. He won the Pulitzer in 1975 for Seascape and again in 1963 for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" but was denied the award by the Pulitzer advisory committee because of sexual content and language. He was also a finalist for the award in 2003 for "The Goat or Who is Sylvia?" Many consider "Three Tall Women" Albee's greatest play. Mr. Albee is currently a playwright in residence at Yale University. Like all great plays, it's hard to say what the play is about because a great play carries a different meaning for different people. This play was selected for our production because it's about a woman growing wise, and staying strong, and keeping a great sense of humor through the aging process. It's about the same woman, when she is younger, being able to recognize where she has been and see where she is going. It is also about the same woman when she is younger and has no idea where she's headed. We get to enjoy the journey with her.
Our director, Nancy Little, recently played the lead is our production of "Looking For Normal" by, Jane Anderson, and also appeared in our productions of "Glorious" by Peter Quilter and "Shadowbox" by Michael Cristopher. She will be directing a cast of Lauri Christi, Allison Coutts-Jorday, Eve Sigall, and Swen Temmel. Richard Johnson and Diane Peterson are producing. Ralph Romo is set designer with Terrance Davis on sound and composing new music for the show. Deborah LaGorce-Kramer is costumer.
