Choral Arts Society 2010 Winter Concert: "Love is in the Air"
Michael Conley, Music Director, has chosen a beautiful bouquet of romantic choral works, featuring selections from the "Liebeslieder Waltzes" and "Gypsy Songs" of Brahms, and Bizet's "Habanera" from Carmen. The choral group will also be presenting the premier of "Immortal Beloved", a three-movement work for chorus, violin, cello and piano written especially for CAS by Michael Conley, and set to passages from Beethoven's own love letters. Other pieces will include Lauridsen's "Les Chansons des Roses", Willan's, "Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One", and Archibeque's, "One May Morning".
The wonderful Laura Green and Jacqueline Horner will be the featured soloists.
