TEA
TEA, an award-winning play by Velina Hasu Houston, is about the plight of Japanese women who married American servicemen during the American Occupation of Japan after World War II. TEA explores their tales of adjustment and survival in a world devastated by war. Their courtship and marriages brought them new beginnings in a foreign land, America. With humor and sadness, they share their stories of the struggles to create new lives in a new country. TEA is a timely and engaging piece, as we are going through issues of war and immigration today. TEA brings to us the world of Japanese culture and cross-cultural relationships. Sandra Rockman directs.
