Photographer's Tour of Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs 11/24
Once the romping grounds of the Bay Area elite since 1866, Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs (GYHS) offers and peaceful escape from the hectic pace of Silicon Valley business.
GYHS has been closed to the public for 47 years. This historic landmark features a mineral well, 20 structures in varying degrees of aging (cabins, bathhouses, shrine, footbridge, pools), mature manzanita grove, bamboo, sequoia.
This is an opportunity to hone photography skills, record a moment in history, and enjoy a pleasant picnic in this peaceful canyon.
Your day will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. with check-in and quick review of Parks Guidelines. A 30-minute guided tour will give an overview of the property and the historical perspective. You are then allowed freedom to frame and capture images, picnic, and explore.
Participation in this event supports FOGHS preservation and restoration efforts and contributes toward attendance in Coe State Parks activities.
Participants are invited to contribute images to FOGHS collection for presentation and promotional materials, and to donate prints for a future benefit exhibit and/or auction.
Professional photographers are subject to additional $65 Parks fees if images are for commercial purposes. Forms and Parks Guidelines will be emailed to participants. Limited copies will be available on site.
Registration: $20 per person by Friday, November 13th. Late registration: $30 11/14 online & 11/15 on site, must arrive by 15 minutes earlier to complete paperwork. Professional Photographers: $85 ($20 registration + $65 parks fee). Please include email for pdf use application forms.
