NYC Free-Style Bassist Albey Balgochian is committed to pushing the boundaries, exploring and expanding the role of the bass. Captivating audiences with his unusual approach towards improvisational music, he represents a departure from the jazz norm and will impassionate and tantalize your senses with soundscapes not found in regular jazz idioms. Performance credits run full spectrum from Chuck Berry in the 1960's, to Handy Award Winner Paul Rishell, to the avant-Maestro Cecil Taylor, to the founder of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Miguel Algarin.
Spoken wordist Jane B. Grenier's work is rooted in the music, lyrics and times of the '60's hip generation. Her writings are the voice of dissension...politically challenging...socially relevant and timeless. Her works have been published in Boston Magazine, the Boston Globe, Good Housekeeping, Estrellas En El Fuego (Stars in the Fire) Rogue Scholars Express, Tragically Hip - L.E.S. Publication and "TV Baby" - OHWOW Publications. Performance credits from solos to ensembles include sharing the stage with artists from Miguel Algarin to Ann Walden to Amiri Baraka.
