Hands-On Pizza Workshop and Walking Tour of Little Italy 11/7/09
Join Mark Bello, chef/founder of Pizza a Casa, for 5 hours of hardcore, hands-on pizza making (and eating!) Yes, you can make incredible pizza in your home kitchen and here's where you'll learn how. Class meets in Little Italy, where Mark will guide you through shopping and a tasting of the finest ingredients for the pizza making to follow. Then it's off to Mark's kitchen where you'll start by making your own dough from scratch, and then go step by step through the process of crafting the perfect pie. Topics covered include: secrets of the sauce; forming the perfect crust; dressing for success; exciting toppings and embellishments (from classic combos to some unexpected and unforgettable matches); and much, much more. You'll be amazed by your own talent and your favorite pizza joint will start wondering where you've disappeared to...

Classes are limited to six people and run approximately 5 hours. Please dress comfortably (we'll provide the aprons) as class involves some walking, stair climbing and, of course, a little bit of kneading- AND be prepared to eat some spectacular pizza of your own creation! You will enjoy delicious samples in Little Italy, pizzas as they emerge fresh from the oven, and head home with Pizza a Casa's detailed guide Artisanal Pizza Making at Home plus several balls of individually wrapped dough that you made and a box of pizza for later.
