Extreme SNL Workshop with Michael McCarthy

MICHAEL McCARTHY, whose writing credits include SNL, Sesame Street, Drew Carey, many Comedy Central projects, and most recently, helping to develop Mike & Molly (not to mention working on the Second City mainstage for a couple of years), is coming to Saint Louis in order to conduct his EXTREME SNL workshop, which is a condensed version of the eight-week course he developed at the iO West Theater in Hollywood, where he distills into three hours all the elements that go into an SNL Sketch Packet suitable for submission to literary agents, TV producers, and network executives. The workshop, which is loaded with all manor of helpful visual aids, lights upon all the elements that go into a state-of-the-art sketch packet: jokes based upon headlines, monologues, all aspects of Weekend Update, commercial parodies, digital shorts, live parody skits, existing character scenes, not to mention full cast sketches; and then how to critique, assess and hone ones work into a viable sketch packet.
