Set in 1964 in a Catholic school in the Bronx, Doubt centers on the relationship between a charismatic priest and the iron-gloved principal of the school, Sister Aloysius Beauvoir. With political change sweeping through the community, Sister Aloysius sets off on a personal crusade to unearth the truth, and in doing so, locks horns with Father Flynn. Is she being overly protective or not protective enough? And can she work within the system to discover the truth?
