Slow Food Seattle: Talking Mushrooms with Becky Selengut & Langdon Cook
**ATTENDEES: IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL HELP FINDING THE ELLIOTT BAY ROOM, PLEASE SEE THE "FINDING THE EVENT SPACES" SECTION OF THESE DIRECTIONS.**
Join Slow Food Seattle and local authors and foragers Becky Selengut and Langdon Cook for a conversation on mushrooms: how they get from the forest to your kitchen and what to do once you have them there.
Becky will be sharing her perspective on foraging, selecting, and cooking mushrooms from her new cookbook Shroom: Mind-bendingly Good Recipes for Cultivated and Wild Mushrooms.
Langdon will speak about foraging, both his personal experience, and his insights from following commercial pickers for his critically acclaimed book The Mushroom Hunters.
We'll sample Becky's black trumpet pate and pickled chanterelles, and even have a candy cap mocktail to drink!
Book sales and signing will also be available for this fungi-focused event.
Proceeds from this event will help support Slow Food Seattle's local programming, including our school garden program and local food events and education.
